Carpe Diem Tours · Piazza di Pasquino
Carpe Diem Tours walks a small group from Piazza Navona past the Pantheon and Trevi to the Imperial Forums and the Colosseum, lit up after dark. It's one of the best-rated evening walks in Rome, but it never stops at the Spanish Steps: visit those on your own.

We list this walk because it shows up in searches for Spanish Steps tours, and because it's good. It is not a Spanish Steps tour. You meet the yellow Carpe Diem flag in Piazza di Pasquino, just off Piazza Navona, and walk through Navona, past the Pantheon and to Trevi, then on to Piazza Venezia, Trajan's Forum, Via dei Fori Imperiali and the Colosseum. About 20 minutes each. The Spanish Steps are not on the route.
What you get is Rome at night with a guide for $27, in a group of 15 at most, rated 4.9. Guests mention smaller crowds at Trevi after dark, getting right to the edge of the fountain, and guides who share dinner tips at the end. The Pantheon is from outside: entry is listed as not included and the building closes before the walk gets there.
To add the Steps, go before the tour: Trevi to the Steps is about 10 minutes on foot, and the Steps to Pasquino about 20. Or swap for the Your Way night tour or the Maximus evening walk, which both list a stop there. The walk ends at the Colosseum, by the line B metro.
Meet the yellow Carpe Diem flag in front of the Chiesa della Natività di Gesù, by Rome's talking statue.
Piazza Navona, then the Pantheon portico from the piazza.
Usually quieter after dark.
The Vittoriano, then the forum and markets of Trajan.
Along the Imperial Forums to the floodlit Colosseum, where the walk ends.
★★★★★Our tour guide, Sharon, was nothing short of amazing. She was friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable. Her tour went at a great pace and was PACKED with amazing facts.
★★★★★Our tour guide Vladimir was passionate and entertaining [...] We were able to get right to the edge of Trevi Fountain due to the reduced crowds when compared to the daytime.
★★★★★Excellent!! Sharon was amazing. So notable and helpful. She has a attitude and we walked slowly through town, but enjoyed all of her stories for stops. I also loved getting gelato on the tour!
