WHEEL TOURS · Via Urbana, Monti
An electric golf cart carries up to 14 guests from Monti to the Colosseum, St Peter's Square, the Pantheon, Trevi and the Spanish Steps in three hours, with a gelato stop. Pick it to see the whole centre without walking it: the Steps get a 15-minute stop near the end.

WHEEL TOURS runs small electric golf carts out of Via Urbana in Monti, a few minutes' walk from Cavour metro on line B. A guide drives (or rides with a second driver when the group needs two carts) and talks over a headset system the whole way. In three hours the listing fits in the Colosseum, St Peter's Square, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Trevi and the Spanish Steps, and drives past Piazza Venezia, Tiber Island and Largo Argentina. Carts reach lanes where buses can't go, which is the whole point.
The stops are short. The Colosseum gets 10 minutes, St Peter's Square 5, the Pantheon 20 (outside only, no ticket), Trevi 15 and the Spanish Steps 15 minutes. That's enough for photos and a walk up to the first landing, not for the church at the top. You can't sit on the Steps anyway: Rome's police regulation has carried a €250 fine since 2019. Gelato, bottled water and headsets are included, and the operator warns that the order of stops shifts with traffic, road closures and events.
Two caveats. It isn't wheelchair accessible, though guests report drivers helping older relatives in and out of the cart. And it's a highlights reel: one guest wished the Colosseum had been more than a quick drive-by. If you'd rather spend half an hour at the Steps on foot, the Tix & Tours walk stops there twice as long for about half the price.
Check in at the WHEEL TOURS base in Monti, a short walk from Cavour metro. Headsets go on, then you board.
A 10-minute stop at Piazza del Colosseo, then past Piazza Venezia, Tiber Island and Largo Argentina.
A 5-minute stop in the square, outside the basilica.
Ten minutes in Piazza Navona, a look at Bernini's elephant in Piazza della Minerva, then 20 minutes outside the Pantheon. The gelato stop usually lands around here.
Fifteen minutes at Trevi, then 15 at the Spanish Steps before the drive back to Monti.
★★★★★It was forecasted to rain during our tour, so they adjusted accordingly so we got the gelato before the rain started. Once the rain started, our guide lowered down the plastic covers on the golf cart to protect us from the downpour. [...] Though each stop was relatively short, 10/10 would recommend to anyone trying to pack a lot into one tour.
★★★★★This tour is ideal for three situations: (A) you just arrived and want a 3hr orientation. (B) someone in your party (like my 82 year old mother) has trouble walking/climbing or has limited walking stamina or (C) you’ve had a great time in Rome and want a relaxing way to end / recap your time here.
★★★★★Elena was a wonderful guide! She was very knowledgeable and shared fun and interesting information. Seeing the many different sights illuminated at night was beautiful. She allowed for enough time at stops and you never felt rushed.
★★★★★Really enjoyed taking it all in from the golf cart even in the bracing New Years Day cold. We saw far more from this tour than we would have had we attempted to do it on foot. Also the gelato was very tasty! Grazie!

Fifteen minutes, according to the listing's itinerary, near the end of the three hours. It's a photo stop: there's time to walk up a flight or two, not to visit Trinità dei Monti at the top.
Yes, that's who it suits best. You ride between all the stops, and guests report bringing parents in their 80s and 90s. The carts are not wheelchair accessible, so a wheelchair user needs to be able to step in and out.
At Via Urbana 40 in Monti, near Cavour metro (line B), and it finishes there too. There's no hotel pickup. See our guide to getting around the Spanish Steps area for the metro from the Steps.
No. You see both from outside: 20 minutes in front of the Pantheon and 10 at the Colosseum. Gelato, water and headsets are the only extras included.
