The Spanish Steps walk from Piazza del Popolo

A licensed guide walks you from Piazza del Popolo down to the Spanish Steps, then on to Trevi, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona in two and a half hours. Pick it for the time at the Steps: 30 minutes, the longest stop there of any tour on this site.

Spanish Steps, Trevi & Pantheon Walk

About this experience

Tix & Tours meets at Piazza del Popolo 7, where the guide holds a red sign. After 15 minutes in the square you walk south to Piazza di Spagna, the classic way in, and the listing gives the Spanish Steps 30 minutes. Then come Trevi, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, half an hour each. Headsets are included, which matters in the crowd at Trevi.

Half an hour at a staircase you can't sit on (a €250 fine since 2019) is a lot, and that's the good part: there's time to climb the 135 steps to Trinità dei Monti for the view over the rooftops, or to step into the Keats-Shelley House corner of the square. The Pantheon is from outside only. Its ticket costs €7 since July 2026 and isn't included, and the area by the Trevi basin needs a €2 ticket for the area by the basin from 9:00 to 22:00.

Check which option you book. There's an English small group, a larger English group (the listing caps tours at 30), a Spanish small group and a private tour, which ran about $571 on a sample date. The listing also says it isn't for travellers with back or knee problems. Guests mostly review the guides, by name, and the photos they take for the group.

Tips before you book

  • Pick the English small-group option unless the group price is much lower that day.
  • Use the 30 minutes at the Steps to climb to Trinità dei Monti. The view from the top is the best free one in the area.
  • Don't sit down on the Steps, even for a photo. Police whistle at people and fines start at €250.
  • The price moves: the listing was on sale when we checked in October 2026.
  • Bring a card if you want the Trevi basin: the €2 ticket is card-only at the fountain.

Frequently asked questions

How long does this walk spend at the Spanish Steps?

Thirty minutes, per the listing's itinerary. That's the longest Spanish Steps stop of the nine tours we cover. Our comparison of Spanish Steps tours lists the minutes for each.

Where does the Tix & Tours walk meet?

At Piazza del Popolo 7. Look for the guide holding a red sign reading Tix & Tours. Flaminio metro (line A) is just outside the Porta del Popolo.

Does the tour go inside the Pantheon?

No. The Pantheon stop is 30 minutes outside, and entry is listed as not included. The ticket costs €7 since July 2026; you can go back on your own after the tour.

Can children join?

Yes. There's a child rate for ages 5 to 17, and the listing says the route works with a stroller. It's 2.5 hours on foot, so small kids may tire before Navona.
